Lincoln released the 2nd generation of the MKX back in 2015. Just like with its predecessor, the car shared most of its underpinnings with the Ford Edge. However, it looks like Lincoln is finally looking to detach from their parent company. Not that long ago they released the new 2019 Lincoln Nautilus, the facelift for the MKX. Even though the car has a different name, they updated the older design in order to better fit today’s market. While the changes under the skin are not as impressive as on the exterior, the new Nautilus still managed to impress quite a bit.
In detail
The car is still using the same CD4 modular architecture as its predecessor. This also underpins the Edge but for this new model Lincoln altered the materials as well as some of the suspension components. It looks like the new model is now slightly stiffer than before as well as more comfortable. The NVH levels also improved slightly but these are mostly due to the car’s better sound insulation which Lincoln installed in order to make the car as comfortable as possible. We also said the suspension has been changed slightly. Lincoln made this move in order to make the car not only more comfortable but also slightly better to drive. Its predecessor wasn’t really all that great when it came to handling characteristics but this should change with the new model.
2019 Lincoln Nautilus Release date and Price
So far it still is unclear as to when Lincoln will release the new model on the market. If the rumors are anything to go by then we should see the 2019 Lincoln Nautilus hit the showroom’s floor by the end of 2018. Its price is likely not going to change much over that of its predecessor which means it will remain one of the more affordable full size luxury crossovers on the market.

Likely one of the biggest changes with the new Nautilus has to be the way it looks. Luckily, the older model, on which the car is based on, isn’t bad looking at all. In order to spice things up a bit, Lincoln just updated the front end of the car.

This time around the Nautilus received the same front fascia as Lincoln’s other new cars such as the Navigator or the Continental. The two piece grille is gone, the headlights are far more minimalist in design while the bumper is more reminiscent of a sports car. The rear of the car, with the exception of the LED tail lights, is identical to that of its predecessor which is to be expected for a facelift.
The interior
The cabin of the 2019 Lincoln Nautilus doesn’t really look any different than the one before it. The car still has the same Ford-inspired center stack as the one before it and there are still way too many buttons inside.

However, the car’s steering wheel is new while the instrument cluster has been replaced with a brand new digital unit. The materials also seem to be slightly better than before while the front seats now offer up to 22 levels of adjustment which should allow pretty much anyone to find the perfect driving position.
2019 Lincoln Nautilus Specs
So far the MKX has been available with a 3.7 liter naturally aspirated V6 as its base engine. This is no longer the case with the new 2019 Lincoln Nautilus. The car features a new 2.0 liter turbocharged EcoBoost inline-four which is good for 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. The move is rather interesting, especially since the engine has considerably less power than its predecessor.

Even so, it should provide better fuel efficiency and better in-gear acceleration thanks to the extra torque. The range-topping models didn’t change a bit though. These will still offer the same 2.7 liter twin-turbocharged V6 from its predecessor. This engine will make a rather impressive 335 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque which is quite a bit more than the base model. Both engines come equipped with the same 8 speed automatic and both of them come with automatic start/stop. The big difference here is the fact the V6 is only available with all wheel drive while the base model can also be had with front wheel drive which improves fuel efficiency slightly.
